Elephant bull, Loxodonta, Ivory Lodge, Hwange, Zimbabwe

Elephant bull, Loxodonta, Ivory Lodge, Hwange, Zimbabwe

This testosterone filled elephant bull approached the waterhole and it was obvious that he was highly charged. He angrily kicked up the mud and water, swing his head wildly and made a few worrying advances toward where I was standing. Even the babboons were wary of him.
African elephants are the elephants of the genus Loxodonta, consisting of two extant species: the African bush elephant and the smaller African forest elephant. Loxodonta is one of the two existing genera in the family Elephantidae. Wikipedia
