African Leopard, Panthera pardus pardus, Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe

I had stopped my vehicle to take some pictures of a Slender Mongoose that was standing upright staring into the bushes beside the road. The Mongoose started running rapidly toward the car and disappeared underneath it. To my pleasant surprise this female African Leopard stepped into the road and what followed was beyond anything I ever expected to see or photograph. This is the first Leopard I've actually seen in Hwange National Park and have visited there many times. The irony of it is that this was just off the main road through the park just before the main wildlife viewing platform at Nyamandhlovu Pan. I will never forget this.
